Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies with Candy Corn

This recipe has a long and rich history, tracing back to the 1930s when Ruth Wakefield, the inventor of the original chocolate chip cookie, began experimenting with different cookie recipes. This recipe builds upon this legacy, adding the delicious flavor of pumpkin and Candy Corn to create a unique and irresistible treat.

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

3/4 cup sugar

2 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon water 

2 ¼  cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 ½ cups chocolate chips

¼ cup pumpkin puree 

1 ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 

1 cup candy corn

Directions

Pre-heat coven to 375

 

Mix together flour, baking soda & salt.

 

In a separate bowl cream together the softened butter, pumpkin puree, sugars, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice.

 

Beat two eggs into cream mixture then add to flour mixture with chocolate chips.

 

Spoon 1-inch balls of mixture on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  Gently press several pieces of candy corn on each cookie

 

Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
